Highflyers reached an all time low succumbing to the Boca Seniors 11 goals to nil.
It is the first time that the mercy rules have been utilised to ensure no team can win by a greater margin than 10 goals.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Well done to both teams today as they held a 2 minute silence for remeberance day; no FIFA bureaucracy in the Blackfriars League thankfully.
Ian Hargreaves made a guest appearance for the Boca's as they took advantage of the free loan window that closes for good now until January - and what a signing it was. The aforementioned striker maintained his prolific start to the season by scoring 4 superb goals. Hargreaves is now the bookies favourite for the much coveted Golden Boot Award.
Da Silva and Luford deserve honerable mentions, getting a hat-tick a piece and to Peter Lamb who maintained a clean sheet for the duration of the game - a league first.
Highflyers captain Mark Haines said his boys have learnt their lesson, and despite being a quality outfit, were too complacent coming into the game. "The guys will learn from this and we'll come back with more fire for the next game against EMEA Allstars who have started the season poorly - we'll get them at their most vulnerable and make them suffer for every mistake"
Boca's sit at the top of the table but for how long? Boca's are soon to be pitted against one of the most passionate teams in the league, Teletekkers, with whom they have their biggest rivalry. An insider source at the Adletico traning ground informs that, "there have been a lot of whispers that, with Ian Hargreaves gone, Boca's don't have what it takes to win a game let alone the league".
